Contractors are being sought for a dynamic purchasing system (DPS) for housebuilding worth up to £10bn.
The South East Consortium, a non-profit procurement vehicle owned by 54 housing associations and councils, is looking for firms to join the DPS to gain opportunities to work under five lots, ranging from small to large new-build jobs.
The DPS replaces an expiring New Build Framework it ran from 2020.
South East Consortium director of strategic partnerships David Smith said: “This DPS model provides more flexibility both for buyers and the supply chain. It is an attractive way to support SMEs and other contractors to have a chance to price relevant development projects that they can fulfil.”
It is set to run for four years, with new firms able to join at any point during the period.
The system has been valued at up to £10bn, based on “the scale of the market and the new government’s intention to build circa 300,000 social and affordable homes per annum”, Smith said.
The five lots are: site preparation, including demolition and clearance, decontamination, reinstatement and remediation; new-build and construction up to a value of £4,999,999; new-build and construction with a value of £5m to £9,999,999; new-build and construction with a value of £10m to £49,999,999; new-build and construction of a value over £50m.
It is open for use by the 54 members of the South East Consortium, who are based in the South East of England and London, and also by the wider public sector.
