It’s too early to say who will win the race for the White House, with polls still open or contests too early to call in battleground states.
Vice President Harris and former President Trump have each notched early wins in states that were predictably blue or red. Florida planted itself firmly in the Republican column, with a win for Trump. And Virginia, which Republicans had hoped to flip, landed in the Democratic column.
The race has remained stubbornly deadlocked for weeks. The Hill and Decision Desk HQ’s polling aggregate finds Harris and Trump tied nationally at 48 percent.
Control of Congress was also too early to call. The House may be up for grabs, and the Senate is more than likely flipping into Republican hands.
