A new survey found that most Americans are optimistic about President-elect Trump returning to the White House.

The survey, conducted by CBS News and YouGov, found that 60 percent of respondents say they feel optimistic about Trump’s second term.

The remaining 40 percent say they are pessimistic about Trump’s return to the Oval Office.

The percentage of Americans who feel optimistic about Trump’s presidency hovers near what other presidents scored in the past.

When President Biden was taking office, 58 percent felt optimistic. Ahead of his first term, 56 percent were optimistic about Trump, CBS News reported.

Former President Obama scored the highest out of the last ten presidencies, with 79 percent of Americans optimistic about his term.

Trump was propelled to a win in the 2024 election because Americans had pessimistic views about the economy.

According to the survey, just 38 percent of respondents say the economy is good currently, with 56 percent saying it is bad.

Fifty-two percent say they predict the 2025 economy to be good and just 31 percent say it will be bad.

The survey was conducted Jan. 15-17 among 2,174 respondents and has a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points.
