ACMs Red Carpet: The Best Looks From Country Music’s Big Night

The Academy of Country Music Awards, or ACMs (not to be confused with the CMAs, which are the Country Music Association Awards—those take place in November), were held last night in Frisco, Texas. The event drew some of country music’s biggest names, like LeAnn Rimes, Lainey Wilson, Reba McEntire, and Kelsea Ballerini, as well as newcomers like Shaboozey, Ella Langley, and Dasha.

The ACMs’ red carpet was a delightful mix of high-fashion looks, like Nicole Kidman’s Monse ensemble, and cowboy-chic styles, like Wilson’s ten-gallon hat and Langley’s all-over snakeskin-printed dress. Speaking of animal prints, there were also several leopard looks, which brought to mind Shania Twain’s getup in the music video for “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” and one real animal: singer-songwriter Jessie Muph accessorized her baby pink look with…a baby piglet.

While the piglet is my one true winner from the night, several humans took home real awards. ACM winners include Lainey Wilson, who won the coveted entertainer-of-the-year honor as well as album of the year; Ella Langley, the best-new-female-artist winner; and Zach Top, best-new-male-artist winner.
