Bengals' key defender provides important injury update

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback DJ Turner is an important part of the team’s plans in 2025 and beyond.

Going into his third pro season, Turner will have a big role to play in the refreshed defense under new coordinator Al Golden.

It’s notable, then, to hear that Turner is all the way back from the broken clavicle that ended his second season last year in Week 11.

Turner said as much during a recent training session while prepping for spring activities with the Bengals in the coming weeks.

“Oh yeah, I’m 100 percent,” Turner told KPRC 2. “I’m ready to go.”

It’s a small update, yet an important one. Turner, still just 24, is a possible starter for the Bengals in 2025 in a cornerback room loaded with questions. Cam Taylor-Britt is a wild card after his messy campaign last year and former first-rounder Dax Hill seems to be headed for another position change while taking up Mike Hilton’s old spot.

There’s a chance the Bengals attack the secondary again early in the draft. But a healthy Turner would go a long way toward improving the odds that the overall unit is much better next season — never mind giving the team a success story of a second-round pick.
