If anyone knows what the next Christopher Nolan movie is about, they’re not telling. As The Hollywood Reporter says, “Various theoretical, even divergent, details have been posited regarding the project — a period vampire thriller, a helicopter action thriller — but insiders maintain that nothing has come close to nailing Nolan’s real idea.”
Whatever this movie may or may not be, it has a cast full of star power—and the latest marquee name to join up is none other than Robert Pattinson, who reunites with Nolan after 2020’s baffling and divisive Tenet. [ed note: NEIL + THE PROTAGONIST 4-EVAAAAA] He joins Matt Damon (The Martian), Tom Holland (various Spider-Man films), Anne Hathaway (Colossal), Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther), and Zendaya (also various Spider-Man films).
Pattinson is, of course, also expected to tuck himself back into Batman’s cowl for Matt Reeves’ second The Batman, which has not yet begun filming. THR notes that “there was hope that it could shoot sometime next year.” But if Nolan’s film is also aiming for an early 2025 shoot, that may complicate things, scheduling-wise.
The actor’s next role is in Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17 (pictured above), which keeps getting delayed and is now releasing on the distant date of April 18, 2025. The Nolan movie is set for July 17, 2026; presumably we will find out what it’s about before then.
