For the last few months, it’s been nearly impossible to see green (acid, fluorescent, but also pistachio and lime) without thinking “brat.” And while Emily Ratajkowski’s latest dress is not the exact shade of green that has seemed inescapable this summer, it’s close enough.
For those who don’t know, brat is the name of Charlie XCX’s latest album, and the album artwork features the title in lowercase against a slime green background. And so, watching Ratajkowski parade on the red carpet of the 2024 Venice Film Festival—for the premiere of Battlefield—we couldn’t help but think of this connection.
The writer, model, and It girl sported a long green dress with a deep neckline and a bare back. It’s a vintage choice, dating back to the Gucci fall/winter 2004 collection, designed by then-creative director Tom Ford.
Long, fringed tassels embellish the skirt of the dress, adding movement, while sheer panels at the bust lend extra sex appeal to the already sexy deep-V neckline.
