Jennifer Lopez Wore ‘Fairy Nails’ and It’s the Perfect Pastel Mani for Spring

If you’re still searching for spring nail inspo, Jennifer Lopez’s pretty pastel manicure is perfect for the season. The 55-year-old entertainer has been serving up some spring-ready nail looks in recent weeks, last seen wearing minimalist soap nails with a dainty french tip. Keeping in line with her less-is-more look, Lopez’s latest mani takes on the milky pastel trend with a glamorous twist.

On April 19 the 55-year-old entertainer attended the final practice before the F1 Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia wearing a pink Britney Spears–coded bodysuit. To compliment the ensemble, Lopez and her longtime nail artist Tom Bachik chose a pale pink manicure with long almond tips.

“Bringing a little sparkle to F1,” Bachik wrote in the caption. For the look, Bachik used his Tweezerman x Tom Bachik Ultimate Nail Care Set to prep and clean the nails before applying Aprés Nails gel color in Fairy Wings topped with Pink Clouds. The result? Ethereal fairy nails to match Lopez’s Y2K outfit. Rounding out her ensemble, Lopez wore pink plastic sunglasses, a slicked-back ponytail, pink cheeks, and glossy lips.

Pastels have been one of the biggest nail trends of the season so far, worn on the likes of Lopez, Meghan Markle, and Selena Gomez. “We’re leaning towards soft light shades like lavender, mint, peach, and baby blues, which are really great and give an airy vibe,” says celebrity nail artist Elle Gerstein. Even better news for nail-art lovers: “Pastels are also great for some of spring’s trending designs, including florals and French manicures,” she says.

To get that extra-clean look, Gerstein says it’s all in the nail prep. “Begin by scrubbing your nails with an antibacterial soap; think of it like washing your face,” she explains. “Let the nails dry, and then use isopropyl alcohol—75% and up—to cleanse the nail. This will act like an astringent and bring your nail to the proper pH level while eliminating any dust and debris from your nail.”
