Blackpink singer Lisa dressed to turn heads on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show red carpet. Shortly before her runway performance, the K-pop singer arrived in a black embellished bra, a star-adorned transparent cape, and black hotpants.
This is Lisa’s third major solo performance this fall. She previously sang onstage at the MTV VMAs and headlined the Global Citizens Festival in New York City.
The artist recently assured ELLE that while she is doing more on her own, she and her bandmates, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé, remain dedicated to their group, Blackpink. “Of course we’re continuing, for sure,” Lisa said. “We’re so proud of Blackpink, and I love Blackpink. It is not just because of our fans, it’s for ourselves. There was no doubt. This is our life.”
She spoke about her fashion taste these days reflecting her own solo era, which she kicked off with her single, “Rockstar.”
“I’m into leather stuff,” she said. “Big, big earrings. Silver accessories. When I wear it, I just feel like, ‘Okay, I’m a rock star.’ I’m going to walk like a rock star. I’m going to sit like a rock star.”
That attitude reflects Lisa’s newfound confidence as well. “To be honest, I’m not the type who’s really good at expressing my feelings,” she said. “Lately, I feel more confident of what I think, and say it out loud.”
Lisa is releasing music under her own management company and owning her decisions at work and beyond. She is decisive on purpose: “I think that’s the most important,” she told ELLE. “Because if I say, ‘Ah, it’s okay,’ [people] don’t know—like, am I really okay with it? So I have to be able to say ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ Not in between.”
