(WJW) — With extreme temperatures in the forecast, several local schools have opted to close or dismiss early on Tuesday, which is expected to be the hottest day of the week.
Temperatures are expected to top 90 degrees in the area, with the heat index hitting 100 degrees, according to FOX 8 meteorologists.
Heat advisory: Hot and humid ahead of storms
Eight Northeast Ohio counties will be under a heat advisory on Tuesday afternoon: Ashland, Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Richland, Sandusky and Seneca.
