The head of Mace’s construction arm Andrew Jackson has stepped down after just three months in the role.
Jackson took up the helm of Mace Construct in July as part of a major executive reshuffle, replacing chief executive Gareth Lewis. The firm has now announced Jackson will leave his role due to “personal reasons”.
Mace deputy chief executive Jason Millett, who also heads Mace Consult, will take over Jackson’s role in the interim while Mace appoints a permanent replacement.
Before his promotion, Jackson spent three years as Mace Construct chief operating officer. He joined Mace in 2015 and has also headed the firm’s residential and data centre operations.
Mace announced a major shake-up of its C-suite in May, in which Mark Reynolds announced he would depart as chief executive at the end of 2024. Reynolds will continue as chair and remain in his role as co-chair of the Construction Leadership Council.
Reynolds reflected on stepping down from the Mace hotseat after 12 years in Construction News’ First Site podcast earlier this summer.
Speaking in June, Reynolds said the firm was changing to deliver its growth strategy. “We’re moving much more to executives running the business. We do need to look at a structure that takes us into the next decade,” he said.
Millett will take up the chief executive role in January, with Mace Consult chief operating officer Davendra Dabasia replacing him as Mace Consult head.
Reynolds said: “I would like to thank Andrew for his hard work and commitment over the last nine years, supporting and leading Mace Construct through a period of major growth.
“He has made a hugely positive impact on our teams, has made a significant contribution to our construction business and leaves a real legacy. We wish him well in the future.”
