Jennifer Goforth, the director of STEM (K-12) for the Montclair Public School district died on Friday, the district announced.
“Mrs. Goforth will be remembered as a dedicated educator, who was committed to the success of our students,” Montclair Interim Superintendent Damen G. Cooper wrote in an email to the school community.
Goforth has been the STEM director since 2014 and previously was in the district from 2001-2006 as a high school math teacher, according to her LinkedIn profile. She also worked for Rutgers University and in the West Orange and Newark school districts.
“She worked tirelessly to create new, innovative opportunities for our students to grow and thrive in their academics,” Cooper said his email.
Goforth also serviced as the District Test Coordinator for PARCC and NJSLA-Science, according to the district website.
Cooper said the district will have counselors available for students and staff.
