It is St. Patricks’s Day and for Notre Dame football that means that it is also its annual “Pot of Gold Day” where they send out numerous offers to prospects all across the country in different recruiting classes.
The Irish got started early on Monday, as they already knew who there were going to send out a scholarship to. There were plenty of big names to get an offer from Notre Dame, and there will be more as the day goes on.
This list will be updated to reflect that, but here are the players who have gotten the traditional offer on a day that is built for Notre Dame.
(Note: All prospect rankings are according to the 247Sports Composite.)
The official announcement
We all knew this was coming, but Notre Dame football’s official social media account made sure everyone was aware. It’s going to be a huge day for the Irish.
Linebacker Liufau Loumoli
The 6-foot, 1-inch and 210-pound Washington linebacker is one of the best prospects in the country, ranking as the No. 85 overall prospect in the 2027 class. There is potential that he could play safety as well, as his versatility makes Loumoli one of the best players in his class.
Edge Chris Whitehead
An elite prospect in the 2027 class, Whitehead is a 5-star prospect ranking as the No. 11 overall player in the nation. He’s got a great frame at 6-foot, 5-inches and 210-pounds, as the Virginia star is one of the most coveted recruits in the country.
Running back Amir Brown
The 5-foot, 10-inch and 200-pound 2027 prospect got his Irish offer early, and rightfully so. As the nation’s No. 93 overall player he’s a top target for many schools. Now that Notre Dame is in the mix, they have a chance to move up his list, with an upcoming unofficial visit to happen early next month.
Defensive tackle Ben’Jarvis Shumaker
Another 5-star prospect getting a Notre Dame offer, Shumaker is the No. 12 player in the 2027 class. This is one of my favorite early offers, as the Mississippi native could be an absolute game wrecker for the Irish. It won’t be easy getting him to leave the South, but the offer shows that Notre Dame really wants him to be part of its class.
Defensive end Jayce Brewer
The in-state star pass rusher isn’t ranked at the moment but should be when the rankings are updated. At 6-foot, 5-inches and 210-pounds, Brewer fits the mold of what Notre Dame is looking for in an edge prospect. Long and rangy, getting one of the top players in the state to stay home is the goal.
Edge Rashad Streets
Already with a college-ready frame, Streets stands 6-foot, 4-inches and 230-pounds. He’s undoubtably going to gain weight over the course of the next few years, and could eventually slide down to defensive tackle. He’s currently unranked.
Athlete Quinton Cypher
Most likely a linebacker at the next level, the 6-foot, 2-inch and 220-pounder isn’t ranked at the moment. His offer list, with Notre Dame now added, is impressive and Cypher should be in the coming months.
Jumbo athlete Richie Flanigan
The Wisconsin lineman has a great frame at 6-foot, 3-inches and 265-pounds. He could play on either side of the ball, but most likely will end up on the defensive side. Flanigan isn’t ranked at the moment, but like the other, eventually will be. He is the younger brother of current Irish tight end James Flanigan.
Athlete Garyon Hobbs
Most likely this offer is at running back, as the graphic of Jeremiyah Love gives that away. Hobbs could end up at safety, as his 6-foot and 215-pound frame fits that mold as well. Currently unranked, his a rising prospect that the Irish clearly like.
