Town and gown deals put Multiplex ahead in October

Two major deals secured the top spot for Multiplex in October’s league table.

The £500m Project Vista scheme in London and the £300m Keystone Building contract for the University of Glasgow (pictured) put the firm comfortably ahead.

In second place was Morgan Sindall with 47 jobs worth a total £516.7m, according to data from construction intelligence firm Glenigan.

Morgan Sindall’s wins included a new science and technology building in London, secured by its Overbury fit-out division.

Taking third spot was John Sisk & Son, netting £197.9m of new business. The firm revealed last month it was among three contractors sharing the regeneration of a former biscuit factory in Bermondsey, London. Sisk’s share of the job is valued at £181m.

Galliford Try was one of three firms to stay in the top 10. Its tally of 13 deals kept it in fourth place. Among the jobs was the £135m Galleries mixed-use scheme in Wigan.

Winvic rose three spots in October to fifth place with three deals totalling £180.7m. The firm was helped by the Bristol 360 student scheme, valued at £100m.

TSL Projects was the third contractor remaining in the monthly top 10, winning work worth a total of £150m and moving up three places to sixth.

Among the new faces in the top 10 were Keady Construction. The OHOB subsidiary took seventh place with £142.2m of new business.

McLaren’s £131.3m worth of contract wins were enough for the firm to take eighth spot.

The Bermondsey biscuit factory job also helped McAleer & Rushe achieve £125m to claim ninth place.

Graham completed the top 10 with £117.9m of new work. Among jobs confirmed in October was the firm’s appointment by Eastern Quarry Ltd to deliver the new £80m Alkerden Academy in Ebbsfleet Garden City, Kent.
