Ariana Madix is ready for her starring role. The Vanderpump Rules star and Something About Her sandwich mogul will make her Lifetime movie debut as a police officer on a mission to reunite mother and daughter in Buying Back My Daughter.
Madix’s role as officer Karen was first announced back in March, when she was deep in the throes of Scandoval. She has since moved on from her cheating ex and found bigger and better things on the other side of their breakup—namely, an acting career.
Here’s everything we know so far about Madix’s first Lifetime movie role in Buying Back My Daughter.
What is Buying Back My Daughter about?
After 16-year-old Alicia (Faith Wright) sneaks out to go to a party and never returns, her mother, Dana (Meagan Good), asks the police to open an investigation into her disappearance. Working alongside officer Karen (Madix), Dana soon finds herself drawn into “the salacious world of online escort ads,” where she and Karen find an abducted Alicia “listed for sale,” per Lifetime. According to the network, the film is based on true events.
Is there a trailer?
On September 15, Lifetime released the first trailer, which you can watch below:
Who’s in it?
As mentioned, Madix was cast in the film mere weeks after the news of Scandoval—the cheating scandal involving Madix, her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval, and castmate Raquel Leviss—broke. Madix will star opposite Meagan Good as Dana and Faith Wright as teenager Alicia.
When will Buying Back My Daughter premiere?
The movie is set to premiere on October 7 on Lifetime. And that’s not the only project Madix has coming up. She was also cast in the forthcoming season of Dancing With the Stars, alongside the likes of Kyle Richards’s estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky.
“That’s right, I’m Vanderpump Rules‘ Ariana Madix, and I will be joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars this season,” Madix confirmed on Good Morning America before going on to give the live audience a sneak peek at her new moves.
