What Did Dave Grohl Say About Taylor Swift?

Is Dave Grohl beefing with Taylor Swift? While Swift was busy playing a sold-out concert at Wembley Stadium on June 22, Grohl appeared to be throwing punches from another London venue.

During a Foo Fighters concert at London Stadium, the 55-year-old frontman referenced the “Anti-Hero” singer’s three-and-a-half hour concert happening in the same town. “I know we were joking about the Taylor Swift tour earlier. I know that she’s on her Eras tour,” he told the crowd at London Stadium, who began booing the “Anti-Hero” singer, per one fan-recorded video. “You don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift,” he warned them.

Still, the famous songwriter and guitarist didn’t seem too worried about Swift’s so-called “wrath” as he continued to discuss the 34-year-old singer’s tour. “We like to call our tour ‘The Errors Tour,’” he joked. “Because I feel like we’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few fucking errors as well.”

But he wasn’t done. “That’s because we actually play live,” he added, before feigning shock at his own words. “What?” he exclaimed. “We’re a live band! I’m just saying, you guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music right? You came to the right fucking place.”

Needless to say, Swifties had some thoughts on Grohl’s remarks, which ranged from outrage to confusion. “Hmm liked the foo fighters but is it necessary to drag a successful woman for no reason?” one user commented on the video, while another wrote, “this is uncharacteristically mean of Dave Grohl damn.”

In her own TikTok video on the topic, pop culture commentator Jessica Golich questioned why someone of Grohl’s “stature” would feel the need to “shit on another artist” during a concert. “Foo Fighter shows are always gonna sell throughout the world. It’s so [out of left field] that he would say shit like that on his live stage amongst a massive crowd about Taylor,” she said in her video, which has viewed over 363,000 in four hours.
